Sensory Nature Walk
Nature walks are growing in popularity and are especially enjoyable during the fall. A great way to make this activity an even bigger hit for the kids is to make a “Nature Walk Checklist” and bring along some tools. Your checklist might include some things your child can look for while on your walk such as birds, different plants and flowers, acorns, rocks, etc. Modify your list to suit any learning level!
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
You know it’s fall when the pumpkin cravings kick in. These delicious cookies are exactly what your family needs this season.
For this recipe you will need:
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 2 cups all purpose flour
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, oil and egg. Put this mixture aside and in another bowl mix together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture.
Step 2: Add vanilla and chocolate chips.
Step 3: Roll mixture into 2 inch balls and drop on a greased cookie sheet.
Step 4: Bake at 350 F for approximately 10 minutes, or until lightly brown and firm
